About Us

On July 1, 1993, the Humanitarian Organization for Multicultural Experiences (H.O.M.E., Incorporated) was established to provide services to the intellectually disabled. A vision was birthed to serve the unserved and the underserved in the multicultural communities in Onondaga County.

H.O.M.E., Inc. began with five family care homes and case management. Thereafter, several programs were developed to maximize the potential and independence of the individuals served.

Our first office was located at the Central New York DDSO, 600 S. Wilbur Avenue, in Syracuse, NY. We are currently located at 831 James Street in the downtown business district in Syracuse, NY.

OUR MISSION

The Humanitarian Organization for Multicultural Experiences, Inc. (H.O.M.E., Inc) is a culturally diverse agency whose purpose is to assist persons who are developmentally disabled and their families to attain a safe, healthy and nurturing environment. It is founded on the principles that all individuals have the same rights, including the right to grow and maximize potential; and that valuing and embracing the diversity in our community will increase participation in appropriate programs and services.
